"Communications Commission" participates with an interactive platform on Saudi domain names at the "Biban" forum
The Communications and Information Technology Commission is participating in the Biban forum organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises "Monsha'at," through a specialized interactive platform to introduce the Saudi domain name services provided by the "Communications Commission," and to clarify the most important features of Saudi domain names, and their role in supporting online stores and developing the local e-commerce market, in addition to their role in enhancing user trust and credibility.
Through the platform, the Commission also presented practical models and demonstrations of how commercial establishments can benefit from Saudi domain name registration services (ending with ".السعودية" or ".sa"), provided by the Commission free of charge through the electronic portal: (www.nic.sa). It also clarified the benefits of registering Saudi domain names, and their impact on enhancing the protection and reliability of establishments' online presence, and the various services provided by the Commission, including technical support for registered entities.
It is noted that the total number of registered Saudi domains reached 63,651 registered domains by the end of 2019, an increase of up to 10% over the total registrations in the previous year, which is attributed to the trend toward digital transformation in service delivery, and the development witnessed in the e-commerce market.
