Communications and Information Technology Commission participates in workshop on customs clearance and shipment release procedures

The Communications and Information Technology Commission participated in the workshop on customs clearance and shipment release procedures, organized by Saudia Cargo in cooperation with King Fahd International Airport, where the Commission presented its electronic services related to communications and information technology equipment, their mechanism of operation, and their features, which include providing a unified electronic platform that facilitates licensing procedures for devices that are (imported/used) in the Kingdom, and enables beneficiaries to apply for its services (customs release permit requests, device approval requests, issuance of conformity certificates for communications and information technology devices, inquiry about the status of requests, and others), and receive the Commission's response electronically, in addition to establishing a database of communications and information technology devices approved by the Commission.

The Commission said that it aims, through its participation in the workshop, to clarify its procedures and support relevant entities including individuals, companies, and import institutions.

It is worth noting that the communications and information technology device licensing system is one of the programs through which the Communications and Information Technology Commission seeks to deliver its services efficiently and with high quality to all beneficiaries, and to "transition to a smart environment" by improving, developing, and automating its core services.
