The Communications and Information Technology Commission is organizing, on Sunday 19 Jumada al-Thani 1432H (corresponding to May 22, 2011), the activities of the first workshop of the "Tahfeez" program, which aims to stimulate the information technology industry and services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by supporting and strengthening the factors underpinning the business environment, and paving the way for the establishment of leading local companies that would contribute to increasing growth and employment rates in the information technology field in the Kingdom. The workshop will be held, God willing, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Makarem Hall at the Marriott Hotel in Riyadh.

During the workshop, the launch of the "Tahfeez" program will be announced, along with a review of its role in encouraging small and medium local information technology enterprises to improve their competitiveness and maturity level, and reduce reliance on imported products and services. Participants will also be briefed on the program's upcoming steps and given the opportunity to participate and share their views to increase the program's effectiveness and benefit.

To learn more about "Tahfeez", those wishing to attend can register through the Tahfeez website (tahfeez.sa). Companies specialized in information technology can also take the initiative to register in the directory of Saudi information technology companies through the website (itdirectory.sa).
