CITC organizes workshop "Accelerating the Pace of Progress in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals" as part of the WSIS Forum 2022

The Communications and Information Technology Commission organized a workshop alongside the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2022 in Geneva, together with a number of entities from the Kingdom participating in the forum from the public and private sectors, under the title "Accelerating the Pace of Progress in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals."

The workshop was opened by the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Mr. Houlin Zhao, who affirmed that the Kingdom is a strategic partner in implementing the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and a key player in promoting a culture of excellence and creativity in the field of communications and information technology at the international level.

The workshop addressed several key themes related to a number of national projects and achievements aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including the Cybersecurity Challenge project, the Najiz project for electronic judicial services, the Nama platform for developing the agricultural sector, the sustainability methodology project for digital investment, the Nawafith project for connecting a group of advisors across various business fields with entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises, and the project of the largest data centers in the region.

It is worth noting that the workshop was held with the participation of a number of government and private entities in the Kingdom, represented by the National Cybersecurity Authority, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in addition to the Digital Government Authority, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha'at", and the Saudi Telecom Company "STC".
