The Communications and Information Technology Commission has invited the public to submit their views on the "

Data Centers Regulations Document

," as part of its initiatives aimed at keeping pace with the rapid development in the telecommunications and IT sector and enabling digital transformation across all sectors in the Kingdom.

The Commission explained that the release of the document aims to prepare a suitable environment for the sector's expected growth, stimulate investment in data centers and enhance fair competition within them, in addition to achieving optimal use of telecommunications and IT sector infrastructure and adopting advanced, environmentally friendly data centers.

The Commission also noted that, through this regulation, it will work to raise service quality, protect users, and enable the attraction of major data center companies to draw in digital investments — such as cloud computing service providers, game publishers, video streaming service operators, and content delivery networks — to localize their services within the Kingdom.

The Commission urges interested parties and the public to express their views and submit their proposals, in line with its interest in involving all relevant parties, investors and entrepreneurs in drafting the regulations, with comments to be received
