The Communications and Information Technology Commission Invites the Public to Submit Their Views on the Updated Executive Regulation of the Telecommunications Law

The Communications and Information Technology Commission

announced today that it is seeking public comments on the updated "Executive Regulation of the Telecommunications Law," in line with its role in regulating the telecommunications and IT sector in a manner that safeguards the public interest and the interests of users, in keeping with the rapid developments the sector is undergoing and to strengthen its regulatory environment.

The Commission explained

that

the updates to the regulation included various provisions related to regulating the telecommunications and IT sector, including provisions on issuing licenses for the provision of telecommunications services, spectrum-related provisions, and inspection of service providers, in addition to regulating the relationship between the user and the service provider in a way that protects the interests of both parties.

With a view to giving relevant

parties

and interested members of the public the opportunity to comment,

the Commission made a copy of the updated regulation available on its website (

), and invited the public to review it and submit their proposed comments and views, ensuring that all supporting data, analyses and studies are included, via email:
