'Commission' Introduces the Regulatory Cybersecurity Framework for Service Providers in the Telecom, IT and Postal Sector

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, represented by the General Department of Cybersecurity and Data Governance, held a series of virtual workshops to introduce the regulatory cybersecurity framework for service providers in the telecommunications, information technology and postal sector, attended by more than 150 service providers in the telecommunications and information technology sector, the postal and logistics services sector, and delivery service providers via electronic applications.

During the workshops, an introductory overview of the regulatory cybersecurity framework for service providers in the telecommunications, information technology and postal sector was presented, and the objectives of the framework were stated, in addition to explaining the models under the framework, and shedding light on the compliance targets of the framework. An introductory overview of the classification levels of service providers was also presented, through which compliance with the regulatory framework is graduated across successive stages.

It is noted that, through the regulatory cybersecurity framework for service providers in the telecommunications, information technology and postal sector, the Commission seeks to organize and enable cybersecurity practices among service providers, and increase the level of cybersecurity maturity in the sector, in addition to adopting a risk management methodology to achieve cybersecurity requirements, and working to ensure the confidentiality of services provided to users and verify their integrity.
