'Communications and Information Technology Commission' Holds a Specialized Course on Spectrum Management and Its Importance for a Number of National Entities

The Communications and Information Technology Commission held a specialized training course titled "The Radio Frequency Spectrum and the Importance of Its Management," for a number of national entities in spectrum management, as part of the Commission's efforts to achieve its initiatives in spreading specialized knowledge and awareness regarding the radio frequency spectrum and the importance of its management at the national level, in a way that achieves the effective use of this limited national resource.

The course included an introduction to the radio frequency spectrum and the importance of managing it as a limited national resource with increasing demand from various vital sectors, in addition to discussing the regulations and procedures for managing the radio frequency spectrum internationally and locally, addressing the role of the International Telecommunication Union in regulating this resource, and the international Radio Regulations, which are the international reference for the distribution of frequency spectrum use among different radio services, alongside the international procedures for coordinating and reserving orbits for satellite services.

The course also reviewed the procedures for allocating the frequency spectrum to users, in addition to radio monitoring of frequency use to ensure their operation in an environment free of harmful wireless interference and address it.

This specialized course comes as part of the initiatives of the National Spectrum Strategy to develop national cadres in the field of the radio frequency spectrum, given its importance as a limited national resource and an important element in enhancing the local economy.
