Protecting the Rights of Postal Service Beneficiaries: Commission Fines a Postal Service Provider SAR 100,000

The Communications and Information Technology Commission fined one of the postal service providing companies, following its violation of a number of provisions of the document on rules for protecting the rights of postal service beneficiaries, as part of the Commission's supervisory and inspection efforts on companies providing services in the postal sector, and to protect the rights of postal service beneficiaries.

The Commission revealed that the violations recorded against the company are: failure to deliver postal items to the addressee's address, or delay in delivering them; in direct violation of the fifth clause of the document on rules for protecting beneficiaries.

The Commission explained that the fine imposed on the company amounted to (100) one hundred thousand Saudi riyals, stressing the need for the company to address and correct the violations within a week of the date the fine was issued, and in case of non-compliance, additional measures will be taken against it, up to suspending and withdrawing its issued license.

It is noted that the "Communications and Information Technology Commission" is currently intensifying its supervisory and inspection tours of postal and logistics service providers, to verify the level of compliance with the regulations and rules adopted for providing these services with the highest quality.
