"CITC" Conducts More Than 200 Inspection Tours of Telecom, Postal, and Delivery App Providers' Branches
The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced the conduct of more than 200 inspection tours during the period from February 3-11, covering many sales outlets and service provider branches in the telecom and information technology sector and the postal and logistics services sector, in addition to providers of delivery services via electronic platform apps, to verify their compliance with implementing precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The Commission explained that its inspection tours covered a number of cities and governorates across various parts of the Kingdom, and resulted in the detection of 70 violations, ranging from failure to apply the distancing measures that everyone must adhere to, failure to measure temperatures upon entering the branch, in addition to employees not wearing masks, and instances of crowding observed in a number of branches.
The Commission stressed the importance of raising the level of compliance with precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in all branches and sales outlets belonging to service providers in the telecom and postal and logistics services sectors, and affirmed the continuation of inspection tours by its monitoring teams, and the taking of necessary corrective actions against all detected violations.
