"CITC" Conducts Inspection Tours of Telecom and Postal Service Providers .. Affirms Business Continuity and Preventive Measures

The monitoring teams of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, in partnership with a number of specialized entities, conducted an inspection tour of sales outlets belonging to telecom service providers, postal service provider branches, and electronic delivery platforms, to verify their compliance with regulations and laws, and their implementation of the preventive procedures and measures recommended by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.

During the tour, the monitoring teams affirmed to service providers the need to activate all digital tools for customers to complete their services and transactions, and to raise the level of preventive awareness and education among all workers in the telecom and postal sectors.

"CITC" had previously directed all licensees providing telecom, postal, and delivery services via electronic platforms to continue performing their duties during this period, and to keep sales outlets and branches available to serve beneficiaries, stressing the need not to breach their obligations toward beneficiaries, given the importance of these two sectors and the vital and logistical services they entail, and added in its circular to telecom, postal, and delivery service providers via electronic platforms that it would take regulatory action and apply penalties against violators.
