CITC Announces the Offering of Project No. (3) and Project No. (4) Under the Second Operational Plan of the Universal Service Fund

The Universal Service Fund at the Communications and Information Technology Commission today announced the offering of the second operational plan's projects, which include projects 3 and 4, aimed at providing voice communications and broadband internet services in all governorates of Al-Baha region, including Al-Baha, Al-Aqiq, Al-Qura, Al-Makhwah, Al-Mandaq, Baljurashi, and Qilwah, and the governorates of An-Namas, Balqarn, and Bisha in Asir region, and Al-Qunfudhah governorate in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region.

The Commission said in a press statement today that project 4 aims to provide voice communications and broadband internet services in the governorates of Al-Majma'ah and Rumah in Riyadh region, and Khafji, Hafr Al-Batin, and Qaryat Al-Ulya governorates in the Eastern Province.

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission and Chairman of the Fund's Executive Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Jaafari, explained in a statement today that the projects supported by the Universal Service Fund come in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, regarding the pursuit of comprehensive development in all regions of the Kingdom, noting that these directives are in line with the national economy's long-term strategy, which seeks to have an advanced and prosperous national economy through achieving comprehensive, sustainable, and balanced development and narrowing the development gaps between the Kingdom's regions, which highlights the importance of the Fund's projects and their direct impact in achieving the general objectives of the Ninth Development Plan.

For his part, the General Manager of the Universal Service Fund, Eng. Fahd Al-Mubarak, confirmed that the Fund has offered the second operational plan's projects according to its plans, noting the participation of all companies qualified to participate in the Fund's projects, namely Saudi Telecom Group, Etihad Etisalat Company "Mobily," Saudi Telecom Mobile Company "Zain," and Etihad Atheeb Telecom Company "GO," in receiving the bid application documents for the two projects.
