CITC Announces the Offering of a New License to Provide (Satellite Broadband Services)

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced the offering of a new license to provide satellite broadband services in the Kingdom. The Commission has defined the scope of services that may be provided, including satellite broadband data services, satellite broadband voice communications services, and value-added services related to satellite broadband services.

The Commission aims through offering this license to enhance competition, provide advanced and adequate telecom services at reasonable prices, and increase the spread of broadband service usage across the Kingdom, which will lead to covering large geographic areas that are difficult to reach with fixed and mobile technologies.
