"CITC" Announces Saudi Telecom Company's Win of the Platinum Gaming Operator Award for the First Half of 2022

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced that Saudi Telecom Company (STC) achieved the Platinum Operator Award for the best-performing service provider in electronic gaming in the Kingdom for the first half of 2022.

The Commission explained that Saudi Telecom Company's win of the award came after it achieved the highest score, obtaining a total of 67.5 points out of 100 in measuring a set of criteria, most notably

local hosting of electronic games, reducing latency to the most popular games, in addition to supporting service providers' packages for electronic games, providing technical and awareness support to gamers, supporting and organizing esports activities, and providing cloud gaming platforms.

It is noted that the Platinum Gaming Operator Award was launched as part of

the Game Mode initiative

which reflects "CITC's" interest in enabling the electronic gaming sector and market in the Kingdom by providing a robust digital infrastructure, and its work to enhance competitiveness among telecom service providers with the aim of supporting the gaming community and ensuring the best experience for them. Since its launch, the initiative has contributed to the creation of feature packages for gamers, benefiting more than 5 million subscribers, an increase of 336% compared to the first half of 2021, and the provision of cloud gaming platforms to more than 322,000 gamers, an increase of about 139% compared to the first half of 2021. The initiative also contributed to providing specialized technical support to more than 615,000 gamer subscribers, in addition to sponsoring 7 of the Kingdom's largest esports tournaments.
