CITC and the National Information Society Committee Organize a Discussion Session Paving the Way for a Secure and Trusted Internet of Things

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission and Chairman of the National Information Society Committee, the Communications and Information Technology Commission and the National Information Society Committee organized yesterday, Tuesday, a discussion session on "Paving the Way for a Secure, Trusted, and Interoperable Internet of Things Using the Digital Object Architecture," attended by senior Commission officials, committee members representing government entities and the private sector, in addition to a number of specialists and those interested in this field.

His Excellency Dr. Al-Ruwais opened the session with a speech in which he said that the increasing reliance on electronic transactions in general, and the emergence of new technical trends with a promising future such as the Internet of Things, will lead to the accumulation of a huge amount of information, which requires managing that information securely and sustainably. He added that this is what gave rise to the idea of the Digital Object Architecture, which aims to achieve security and sustainability in managing all types of information.

The Commission and the Committee stated that the discussion session paving the way for a secure and trusted Internet of Things aims to raise public awareness of the latest developments related to the Internet of Things, including issues related to trust and security.
