Communications and Information Technology Commission warns users against fake text messages

The Communications and Information Technology Commission warned mobile communications service subscribers against responding to fake text messages (SMS) containing the phrase "your photo has been received," which include a link that, when opened, leads to an untrusted and unknown website, aiming to defraud and scam users by notifying them that their photos have been uploaded, and that there is money waiting for them, and requesting they enter their personal data, including their bank account number.

The Commission called on all subscribers not to respond to these messages and not to disclose their personal data, so as not to fall victim to such fraudulent operations, and to report them to the security authorities.
