Communications and Information Technology Commission: The data originates from local and international content service providers, not the Commission

With reference to what has been circulating on some social media platforms claiming that the Communications and Information Technology Commission buys and sells data to local telecommunications service providers, the Commission would like to clarify that this information is inaccurate, and confirms that each service provider is independently responsible for its own data centers and its connection contracts with the outside world. The Commission issues licenses to telecommunications service providers to offer telecommunications services on a commercial basis, and these licenses allow them to establish international gateways and participate in building international submarine cables for data transmission, or lease them from international operators.
