Communications Commission requests public consultation on the regulatory framework for infrastructure wholesale licensing

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced today the release of a public consultation document on the regulatory framework for licensing the provision of infrastructure wholesale services.

The Commission explained that it aims, through releasing this document, to enhance competition and increase the availability of wholesale service sales to infrastructure licensees (fixed and mobile), which will lead to the availability of advanced, high-quality communications and information technology services to the end user at the best prices. This comes as part of the Commission's support for growth and steady transformation in the communications and information technology sector, to protect the public interest and the interests of users and investors.

In its pursuit of achieving transparency and involving the public in the decision-making process, the Commission invited all specialists and interested parties to review the views through its website

and submit detailed answers and comments, with the necessity of providing data, analyses, and relevant comparative studies that support the views and comments via email (wholesale_infra@cst.gov.sa) no later than 26/07/1439H, corresponding to 12/04/2018, affirming that these submitted views are not binding on the Commission.
