Communications Commission renews its call to trip enthusiasts to register for the personal search and rescue service

The Communications and Information Technology Commission renewed today its invitation to land and sea trip enthusiasts to register for the personal search and rescue service, which helps locate missing persons in areas where public communications networks are not available, by determining their location via satellite.

The Commission said that land and sea trip enthusiasts can obtain the device according to the specifications approved by the Commission for satellite search and rescue devices, available at commercial establishments licensed in their commercial registration to sell wireless devices, and purchase the personal emergency distress device, in addition to filling out the designated form and having it signed and stamped by the seller and the service applicant. The Commission invited those interested to visit its website to obtain all information about the personal search and rescue service.

It is noted that the personal search and rescue service was launched by the Communications and Information Technology Commission in previous years in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and the General Authority of Civil Aviation, for a fee of fifty riyals annually, with the aim of facilitating the ability of relevant authorities to reach missing persons by land or sea, and rescue them in record time.
