"Communications Commission" wins the King Abdulaziz Quality Award in its fifth edition
The Communications and Information Technology Commission won the King Abdulaziz Quality Award (KAQA) in the government authorities and institutions category at the silver level, in its fifth edition, in the Commission's first participation in the award, which is considered the national standard for institutional excellence and total quality across all public and private sectors in the Kingdom.
The Commission explained that its application for the award this year came as an affirmation of its application of best global practices and its fulfillment of all the award's criteria, including administrative leadership, strategic planning, human resources, and operations and services management, despite the exceptional circumstances imposed by the coronavirus pandemic this year.
The King Abdulaziz Quality Award had announced the start of the evaluation and judging phase for entities competing for the award during the period from September 15 to October 17, 2020, which included many technical and specialized tests. The award, in its fifth edition, included 15 categories designated for government, private, and non-profit entities, with government entities including ministries, authorities, higher education institutions, and the government health sector. The Commission's winning of the award in its first participation represents a testament to its achievement of the highest standards of the award, and the consistency of its evaluation results with the principles of quality and institutional excellence.
The Communications and Information Technology Commission's winning of the award comes within the framework of its continuous pursuit of adopting institutional excellence methodologies and obtaining all local and international accreditations in the field of quality, as the Commission is the first Saudi authority to achieve the Committed to Excellence (C2E) certification issued by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
