Communications and Information Technology Commission: Arab Company for Internet and Communications Services and Bu'ad Company for Wired and Wireless Communications qualify to obtain a license for providing digital certification services

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced today the names of the companies qualified to obtain licenses for providing digital certification services, namely the Arab Company for Internet and Communications Services and Bu'ad Company for Wired and Wireless Communications, and coordination is underway with both companies to complete the final requirements necessary to obtain the license.

The Commission explained that the license term is five years, and aims to enhance investment in the digital certification industry, and provide its services in the electronic transactions market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through an integrated system for managing public key infrastructure, which underpins all electronic transactions such as e-commerce and e-government, and enables internet users to conduct various electronic operations with privacy, confidentiality, and reliability.

It is worth noting that the digital certification service is an electronic data system specially designed to operate independently or in conjunction with another electronic data system to create an electronic signature, verify the identity of parties conducting electronic transactions and their consent to the electronic transaction, and detect any modification that occurs to this electronic transaction.
