Communications and Information Technology Commission processes more than one million blocking requests for violating links by the end of 2017

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced today that it processed more than (one million two hundred thousand) reports of violating internet links during 2017, an increase of 24% over 2016, while the number of processed child abuse links exceeded (100 links).

The Commission said it seeks to effectively contribute to supporting efforts to combat pornography and child exploitation online and through technology means, by blocking immoral material in general such as pornographic material and gambling sites, while taking additional measures regarding child abuse material, including reporting to relevant security agencies and concerned international organizations. The Commission added that it deals with any report it receives and takes appropriate action through a Saudi team within one business day.

The Commission also expressed its keenness on the interaction of internet users in the Kingdom, calling for support of these efforts by reporting pornographic sites and child pornography through the Commission's website (internet.sa) or the Commission's filtering application (filter.sa) on smart devices, offering its thanks to everyone who contributed to reporting pornographic sites and child pornography.

It is noted that the Communications and Information Technology Commission has processed more than (6 million five hundred thousand) internet links since 2008.
