Communications and Information Technology Commission participates in the third Riyadh Social Forum
The Communications and Information Technology Commission participated yesterday evening in the activities of the third Riyadh Social Forum, organized by the Society for Social Awareness and Rehabilitation "Waei" under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, under the title (Society and Technology... Challenges and Prospects), continuing for two days at the Raffles Kempinski Hotel in Riyadh. His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, Governor of the Commission, delivered a visual presentation on the role of communications and information technology in development, in which he spoke about the contribution of communications and information technology to development, the basic indicators of a knowledge society, as well as the contribution of the telecommunications sector to the national economy, and the Commission's awareness-raising role towards society in terms of raising awareness of information security and promoting safe use, and also highlighted a number of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's future initiatives and projects. His Royal Highness the Governor of Riyadh Region had opened the exhibition accompanying the forum, held on its sidelines, where he visited the Commission's pavilion in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Suwayel, and His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, where His Excellency the Governor of the Commission gave them an introduction to the pavilion's contents and the Commission's community awareness initiatives. It is worth noting that the third edition of the Riyadh Social Forum focused on several themes, most importantly technology and promoting values, technology and development, technology and community security, technology and education, technology and health, and youth and technology awareness.
