Communications and Information Technology Commission participates in Ibtikar 2010 exhibition

The Communications and Information Technology Commission is participating with a dedicated pavilion at Ibtikar 2010 exhibition, held in the city of Jeddah under the slogan "Towards a Creative Society" during the period May 23-27, 2010.

The Commission's participation comes for the first time in this exhibition in its capacity as the regulator of the communications and information technology sector, and as one of the supporters of the culture of creativity and innovation in the field of communications and information technology, in a way that enhances the opportunities for building a solid foundation for the information technology industry in the Kingdom, and achieves the transition to knowledge society applications. The Commission's participation also comes because of the importance this exhibition represents in providing a platform for spreading the culture of innovation and invention and conveying it to society, in addition to the opportunities it creates for connecting innovators and inventors with creativity and talent incubators and their sponsoring institutions.

In this context, Mr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of Public Relations and International Affairs at the Commission, affirmed that creativity and innovation are fundamental factors that have contributed to the developments and successive changes witnessed by the communications and information technology sector, and recognizing the importance of this exhibition and its message, the Commission was keen to participate in it to introduce the Commission's tasks, roles, activities, and achievements. The Commission, in turn, takes this opportunity to invite visitors to visit its pavilion and learn up close about the work it undertakes toward the communications and information technology sector.
