"The Communications and Information Technology Commission": More Than 800 Inspection Visits to Service Provider Branches in the Telecommunications and Postal Sectors During February
The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced that its monitoring teams conducted more than 800 inspection visits during the past month of February, to verify compliance with regulations and laws and the level of adherence to precautionary measures among service providers in the telecommunications and IT sector and the postal and logistics services sector, in addition to delivery applications on electronic platforms.
The Commission explained that the inspection visits covered numerous points of sale and service provider branches across a number of the Kingdom's regions, resulting in the detection of 162 violations, ranging from non-compliant SIM cards, allowing individuals not wearing masks to enter branches, failure to measure the temperature of employees and beneficiaries at entrances, in addition to failure to provide hand sanitizers in designated locations.
It is worth noting that the inspection visits are part of "the Communications and Information Technology Commission's" efforts to strengthen mechanisms for protecting users in the telecommunications and postal sectors, in addition to supporting joint government efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, and emphasizing the importance of raising the level of compliance with precautionary measures across all branches and points of sale belonging to service providers. The Commission also affirmed the continuation of inspection visits by its monitoring teams and the adoption of the necessary corrective measures against all violations detected.
