Communications and Information Technology Commission Launches Telecom Service Providers Ranking Index for the First Quarter of 2017

The Communications and Information Technology Commission today launched its ranking index of telecom service providers based on

complaints escalated to the Commission by subscribers against service providers

, with the index presenting data on complaints received by the Communications and Information Technology Commission from subscribers via its electronic system. Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily) topped the mobile voice service index (most complaints), while Saudi Telecom Mobile Company (Zain) topped the mobile internet service index (most complaints). In fixed voice service, Saudi Telecom Company topped the index (most complaints), while Etihad Atheeb Telecom (GO) topped the fixed internet service index (most complaints).

The Communications and Information Technology Commission stated that, in issuing this ranking index of telecom service providers (based on complaints escalated to the Commission), it aims to provide subscribers with information on the performance of telecom service providers in resolving their customers' complaints, enabling subscribers to choose the appropriate service provider, in addition to enhancing transparency and competitiveness among telecom service providers to develop their services and address their customers' complaints. It is worth noting that this index will be issued periodically (quarterly).
