Communications and Information Technology Commission Launches Its Second Awareness Campaign

The Communications and Information Technology Commission today launched its second advertising campaign to raise awareness of the optimal use of telecommunications and IT services, and to clarify the concepts surrounding them that users in the Kingdom should be aware of, in order to understand the pros and cons associated with their use.

The campaign, which runs for two months, aims to raise awareness of the importance of internet use and its associated benefits, familiarize users with the Saudi domain (.sa) and the Arabic domain, and encourage registration in both by highlighting the benefits of adopting this approach, in addition to a focus on raising awareness of the importance of reporting non-compliant websites and clarifying its role in ensuring safe browsing online, for both individuals and society.

The Communications and Information Technology Commission is running this campaign as part of its social responsibility to raise users' awareness of the optimal use of communication and technology applications, while outlining the benefits and harms associated with such use.

Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Malik, Director General of Public Relations and International Affairs and General Supervisor of the campaign, explained that the campaign will be carried out through a number of different advertising channels, including newspapers, magazines, radio, television, brochures, some websites, and mobile exhibitions inside commercial markets.
