Communications and Information Technology Commission Launches Its "Cybercrime: Its Dangers and Penalties" Initiative as Part of the Makkah Cultural Forum 1439H

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, represented by its branch in the Makkah region, launched a series of lectures under its "Cybercrime: Its Dangers and Penalties" initiative as part of the Makkah Cultural Forum 1439H, themed "How Do We Become Role Models?", at the headquarters of the General Directorate of Education in Taif Governorate, with the attendance of 1,600 male and female students from various stages of general education and technical colleges. Saleh bin Ali Al-Rubaiah, Legal Advisor at the Communications and Information Technology Commission, gave a visual presentation on cybercrime, its types, risks, prevention methods, and reporting steps, reviewing the Anti-Cyber Crime Law.

Through this initiative, the Commission aims to raise the level of awareness among male and female students in the Makkah region on how to use the internet safely, and to inform them of the risks they may face when misusing it.

It is worth noting that this initiative will be implemented across all educational districts in the Makkah region, covering general education, university education, and institutes and colleges, using multiple methods, including delivering interactive awareness lectures, sending awareness SMS messages to telecom service subscribers in the Makkah region, and displaying awareness media messages on sports stadium screens in the region.
