Communications and Information Technology Commission Launches 7 New Publications to Raise Information Security Awareness

The National Information Security Guidance Center at the Communications and Information Technology Commission has launched seven new awareness publications related to information security, targeting users of telecommunications and IT services.

The new publications addressed the topic of information security comprehensively, covering a number of important issues in this regard, such as wireless network security, ways to protect email, and ways to protect privacy in the digital world, in addition to addressing the topic of unsolicited messages (spam) by reviewing its most common types and ways to protect against it.

The new publications also discussed the topic of youth and protecting children from the dangers of the internet, presenting in this context a number of tips for protecting personal devices from internet risks, in addition to addressing the phenomenon of phishing by defining it, explaining its potential harms, and outlining ways to guard against it.

The Commission calls on users and interested parties to review these new publications, and others, by visiting the Media Center on the Commission's website.

The publication of these releases forms part of the Commission's awareness mission toward users in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding all the concepts, behaviors, and practices surrounding the telecommunications and IT sector that are worth introducing and addressing, in a manner that reinforces the concept of safe practice in telecommunications and IT.
