The Communications and Information Technology Commission has issued its first comprehensive analytical survey study on the postal services and online delivery applications market in the Kingdom for 2021, as part of its regulatory and supervisory role over the postal sector and the development of its services, in order to make the Kingdom a distinguished logistics hub that contributes to enhancing economic diversification and supporting sustainable development.
The Commission explained that the study aims to identify market trends and understand user behavior and habits in dealing with these services.
The Commission stated that the study sample comprised 11,090 individuals, based on population data issued by the General Authority for Statistics regarding the demographic distribution of the population by administrative region, nationality, gender, and age group. The survey targeted the age group (15 to 64 years) and covered all 13 administrative regions. The study also identified the key motivations for using postal services for sending and receiving, the types of postal items sent and received, in addition to users' behavior and habits, the destinations of shipments sent domestically and internationally, and the average annual spending on shipments.
The survey results for the delivery applications market showed that the penetration rate of delivery application usage in the Kingdom reached 57%, with females being more frequent users of delivery applications, at 75% of all females.
