Communications and Information Technology Commission Invites Trip Enthusiasts to Subscribe to the Personal Emergency Distress Service

The Communications and Information Technology Commission has renewed its call to land and sea trip enthusiasts to make use of the missing-persons search service, which locates individuals in order to rescue them. The service was launched by the Commission in partnership with the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Command and Control Center.

This service locates individuals on land and at sea by providing satellite location data for the missing person.

Individuals, particularly those undertaking land and sea trips outside urban areas, may subscribe to this service by visiting a commercial outlet licensed in its commercial registration to sell wireless devices, purchasing a personal emergency distress device that meets the approved specifications for satellite search-and-rescue devices, and completing, signing, and stamping the designated form with both the vendor and the service applicant.
