Commission Calls on Domain Name Registrants to Update Their Data

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, represented by the Saudi Network Information Center, called on those registered in Saudi domain names under the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's (sa.) extension to update their data through the Center's portal (www.nic.sa or سجل.السعودية).

It noted that those names have not been updated for more than four years, and are not linked to any account on the Center's electronic portal, which will in turn negatively affect the full benefit from all Saudi domain name services.

The Center explained that this call comes following the emails that the Center had sent to the registrants of those names, via the email addresses of the coordinators of those names, inviting them to update their data within a maximum period of two months from the date the email was sent, so that those names are not suspended or canceled. The Center also affirms to all registrants the need to make sure that all their domain name information is complete, correct and updated, and that the domain name is linked to an account on the Center's portal.

The Saudi Network Information Center (SaudiNIC) is the entity responsible for registering domain names in the Kingdom, with the aim of registering them fairly and reliably, in addition to establishing the rules governing the registration processes for these names, and carrying out the management and technical oversight of these processes and documenting them in information databases, and registering them on the internet. The Center also supports the use of the Arabic language in domain names, and coordinates with the entities overseeing top-level domain names for countries at the level of the Gulf countries, the Arab world, and internationally.
