Commission Honors 46 Trainees for Completing the First Edition of the Digital Regulations Academy Program

The Communications and Information Technology Commission honored 46 trainees who successfully completed the first edition of the Digital Regulations Academy training program on "Fundamentals of Regulation," held in cooperation with the Regulatory Policy Institute (RPI) in the United Kingdom, with the honoring ceremony attended by the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union, Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, along with staff of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, representatives of the Academy, and a number of government and private entities.

As part of its role as a digital regulator, the Communications and Information Technology Commission aims to qualify specialized national capabilities in digital regulations, and achieve regulatory excellence and maturity and accelerate the transition to the digital economy, contributing to achieving the targets of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the quality of the various services provided to beneficiaries.

The participants successfully completed the training program, which included an introduction to the principles and fundamentals of regulation and its best practices and how to face its challenges, and shed light on the latest experiences and practices in regulatory risk management, and discussed policies with the attendance of more than 70 regulatory specialists from 13 government and private entities.

The Digital Regulations Academy seeks, through a package of specialized programs in partnership with leading international institutions, to achieve its strategic targets in the sector, by advancing telecommunications and information technology services to new horizons, and enabling the Kingdom's transformation into a level-five digital regulator, which is considered the highest according to the International Telecommunication Union's classification.
