Commission Holds a Workshop with Delivery Application Companies

The Communications and Information Technology Commission held a workshop with delivery companies operating via electronic applications registered with the Commission, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment, and the Saudi Payments Company, as part of the Commission's commitment to involving them in the decision-making process regarding the regulations for this sector.

The workshop opened with a speech by the Vice Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission for Regulatory and Competition Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, in which he affirmed the need for integration with service providers in order to reach what serves the interests of both the beneficiary and the sector.

During the workshop, a draft of guidelines for providing delivery services via electronic applications was also reviewed, including the need to include terms of service, commitment to honesty in offers, maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of beneficiary information, and the importance of resolving beneficiaries' service issues.

The workshop concluded by giving representatives of the applications the opportunity to raise questions and discuss their views on the draft guidelines for providing delivery services via electronic applications, and the most prominent features of this transitional phase for the postal sector.
