Communications and Information Technology Commission Holds a National Risk Assessment Workshop for the Telecom and IT Sector
The Communications and Information Technology Commission organized today, at the Commission's headquarters, a national risk assessment workshop for the telecommunications and information technology sector, in cooperation with the National Risk Unit, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Saudi Post, and infrastructure-based mobile telecom service providers.
The workshop aims to introduce the National Risk Unit, its objectives, and its principles and working methodology, in addition to raising the level of awareness among those concerned with the telecommunications and information technology sector regarding the methodology followed in identifying and assessing risks; which contributes to raising the readiness level of the telecommunications and information technology sector toward risks.
It is noted that the comprehensive national risk assessment process includes identifying vulnerabilities, preparing a register of critical infrastructure and the communication information network with relevant entities, the general framework for disaster management, and preparing solutions for monitoring and following up on risks.
