'Commission' Holds a Workshop to Introduce 5G Network Cybersecurity Standards

The Communications and Information Technology Commission held, in cooperation with Huawei, a workshop titled "Cybersecurity in 5G Networks," which aims to introduce the adopted security requirements and standards for 5G networks.

During the workshop, an introductory overview of 5G cybersecurity requirements and the adopted security standards for 5G networks and their security applications was presented, and the most prominent challenges specific to 5G technologies were reviewed.

The workshop comes as part of the Commission's efforts to raise the level of cybersecurity maturity in the telecom sector in the Kingdom, maintain data privacy, and keep pace with global interest in providing products, solutions and services related to 5G technologies, which are witnessing rapidly increasing levels of deployment around the world.
