Communications and Information Technology Commission Holds a Regulatory Compliance Workshop

The Communications and Information Technology Commission held a workshop directed at telecom service providers titled "Regulatory Compliance and Its Importance in the Telecom and IT Sector," which aims to raise the level of compliance with the Telecom Law and the Commission's regulatory decisions, and to affirm the importance of this in creating a suitable climate for fair competition among all service providers, in a way that contributes to providing high-quality services at reasonable prices to users.

During the workshop, a number of topics were reviewed, including: the concept of regulatory compliance, the most prominent regulatory and financial risks facing service providers in the event of non-compliance, the most important actions service providers must take to enhance compliance, a proposed internal action plan for compliance departments including the most prominent aspects that must be covered by service providers, and the Commission's upcoming plan to monitor service providers' compliance.

It is noted that the Commission held this workshop as part of its pursuit to advance the regulatory environment of the telecommunications and information technology sector, and to activate the concept of regulatory compliance and its role in forming an environment conducive to investors in the Kingdom's telecommunications and information technology market.
