Commission: Free Messages to Find Out the Number of SIM Cards Registered Under Subscribers' Names

The Communications and Information Technology Commission reaffirmed its keenness to protect the rights of mobile telecom users and prevent the misuse of their names by others, having activated a free feature that allows mobile telecom users to automatically find out the number of SIM cards registered under their names by sending a short text message to the number designated for each company.

The Commission explained in a press statement today that this free feature that has been activated enables subscribers of telecom companies to find out the SIM cards registered under their names, as subscribers of Saudi Telecom Company can send a message to number (900) containing the number (9988), Etihad Etisalat "Mobily" subscribers can send a blank message to number (616166), and Saudi Mobile Telecommunications "Zain" subscribers can send a blank message to number (700123).

The Commission called on mobile telecom users that, in the event a subscriber discovers numbers registered under their name in an unlawful manner, they should report it directly to the Commission through the complaints system on the Commission's website www.cst.gov.sa

or through the Commission's application on smart devices, or by calling the Commission's complaints phone number 00114618200, or through the National Contact Center - "Amer" - at number 199099, entering the Commission's number 100.

The Commission affirmed, in this regard, that this step is an extension of the awareness campaigns it launches regarding updating subscriber data and protecting them.
