Commission: Fingerprint Verification Service Is Free, with a 15-Day Deadline for Citizens Residing Abroad After Entering the Kingdom

The Communications and Information Technology Commission explained that verifying telecom services by fingerprint - when updating or establishing SIM cards and data cards - through the offices of all mobile telecom service providers, their agents, and official distributors, is a free service, and that requesting a monetary fee in exchange for providing it is considered a violation of the Commission's directives.

The Commission called, at the same time, on all users, in the event that a monetary fee is requested from them for fingerprint verification, to submit their reports via its website (www.cst.gov.sa) or through the phone number 0114618000 or by email

Regarding Saudis residing outside the Kingdom, including students and others, they must update their data and verify their SIM cards by fingerprint within fifteen days from the date of their entry into the Kingdom.

It is noted that the Communications and Information Technology Commission had previously announced the extension of the period for updating and verifying by fingerprint the data of prepaid SIM card and data card users for an additional (45) days - with all service providers - with that deadline ending on 26/08/1437H, and the Commission also announced the extension of the period for updating and fingerprint-verifying the data of (postpaid) SIM card users for (90) days, ending on 23/10/1437H.
