Commission Affirms the Importance of Regularly Using Meqyas

The Communications and Information Technology Commission today called on all internet users in the Kingdom to conduct internet experience quality tests using the tools of the "Meqyas" system available on the (iOS) store or the (Google Play) store, or by using the website (

), or fixed internet measurement devices (fiber optic, DSL) provided by the Commission free of charge via (

), affirming the importance of internet service users continuing to conduct tests via "Meqyas" regularly and from different locations, so that accurate information about internet services is available across all regions of the Kingdom.

The Commission said that its aim from "Meqyas" is to provide users with information about the quality of the internet experience provided to them with high transparency and reliability, through conducting measurement tests that will contribute to publishing periodic reports on the internet experience in the Kingdom, to increase transparency and competition among service providers to deliver a better service.

It is noted that the Communications and Information Technology Commission launched the "Meqyas" initiative on 20/01/1439H to measure the quality of internet usage experience in the Kingdom, based on the partnership between the Commission and the general public of subscribers, and to measure the general level of internet service quality in the Kingdom, in cooperation with SamKnows, a company specialized in measuring internet performance quality.
