Commission Stresses Application of Preventive Measures on Delivery Companies via Electronic Platforms... and Threatens to Block Violating Platforms

The Communications and Information Technology Commission stressed to delivery service providers via electronic platforms the need to continue complying with the preventive and necessary measures while carrying out their tasks and providing their services to beneficiaries, with the aim of limiting the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, and out of keenness for the safety of beneficiaries.

The Commission required delivery service providers to check the temperature of their delivery agents daily, verify their safety, and stress to delivery agents the need to sanitize their hands and wear masks and gloves and replace them continuously, in addition to not shaking hands and delivering orders from a distance of two meters, and using electronic payment, while stressing these procedures in orders related to restaurants and the like, stressing that regulatory measures will be taken in coordination with relevant authorities, up to and including blocking violating platforms, canceling their registration, and imposing the maximum fines in case of non-compliance with these preventive measures.

The "Communications and Information Technology Commission" also renewed its call to deal with delivery companies via electronic platforms registered with it, and shown on its website, and called on all beneficiaries to communicate with it via the Commission's website and its official platforms in case of observing any remarks or complaints against delivery service providers via electronic platforms.
