Commission Discusses the Operating Mechanism of the 'Business Intelligence Platform'

The Communications and Information Technology Commission held, today, Monday, a workshop titled "Business Intelligence Platform," attended by representatives of companies providing telecommunications and information technology services, and a number of Commission staff, with the aim of determining the next tasks to complete the platform project according to the desired objectives.

The workshop was opened with a speech by Mr. Nayef bin Abdulhakim Shashah, Director General of Strategic Planning at the Communications and Information Technology Commission, on the Commission's preliminary vision for the business platform and its importance for all partners.

During the workshop, the operating mechanism of the platform was reviewed, by explaining the initial concept of the project, and shedding light on the mechanism currently followed in collecting data and presenting and reading indicators, and the desired state after the completion of the platform project, which aims to enhance communication with service providers, raise data quality, develop and facilitate procedures, and reduce the time and effort spent in obtaining data, in pursuit of a higher goal, which is building decisions based on sound and accurate indicators.

The workshop also reviewed the number of indicators adopted by the Commission, which reach 230 indicators, through which all data and performance indicators requested from service providers and internal systems are compiled in a unified manner and mechanism, to ensure data integrity and raise its quality.

The workshop concluded by opening the floor for interventions and proposals focused on data entry and analysis mechanisms, and attendees discussed ways to enable the platform to perform its work efficiently, noting the importance of the project in helping service providers analyze data and make decisions.
