Commission Affirms the Importance of Benefiting from Cloud Computing Service Providers Registered with It

The Communications and Information Technology Commission called on all entities to benefit from the local hosting services offered by cloud computing companies registered with the Commission, given the reliability, service continuity, ease of access, and high level of protection they offer, noting that cloud computing companies registered with the Commission can be identified through the following link:

www.cst.gov.sa

The Commission also renewed its call to cloud computing service providers to take the initiative and register on

the Commission's website

to be officially accredited to provide these services, with the aim of organizing and localizing this vital field.

The Commission explained that registering to provide cloud computing services enhances the service provider's credibility, helps it follow the requirements and controls issued by the Commission, and avoid any penalties that may result from non-compliance, in addition to the fact that a service provider's registration with the Commission will place it within

the list of companies registered on its website

, making it easier for subscribers to reach all cloud computing service providers registered in the Kingdom.

The Commission revealed that regulating cloud computing services in the Kingdom will contribute to providing a suitable environment to attract local and international investors, localize cloud computing services, and encourage the adoption of related solutions and technologies, in order to raise the level of performance, productivity and flexibility and improve the quality of these services in the Kingdom, in addition to the contribution of cloud computing services in enabling the knowledge economy and the information society, and encouraging individuals and the public and private sectors toward digital transformation.

The Commission had previously issued

the regulatory framework for cloud computing

in the Kingdom, in addition to publishing its dedicated guides, which include cloud computing service guides for each of: individual subscribers, the business sector (companies and private institutions), and government entities, in addition to

a dedicated guide for cloud computing service providers

, which included all the regulations, obligations and rights for all cloud computing service providers and users.
