"CITC" Conducts More Than 900 Inspection Tours in the Telecom and Postal Sectors

The Communications and Information Technology Commission announced the conduct of more than 900 inspection tours by its monitoring teams during last March, to verify compliance with regulations and precautionary procedures among service providers in the telecom and information technology sector and the postal and logistics services sector.

The Commission explained that the inspection tours covered many sales outlets and service provider branches in a number of regions of the Kingdom, and resulted in the detection of 157 violations.

It is noted that the inspection tours come as part of "CITC's" work to strengthen user protection mechanisms in the telecom and postal sectors, in addition to keeping pace with joint government efforts to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus, and to emphasize the importance of raising the level of compliance with precautionary measures in all branches and sales outlets belonging to service providers, and the Commission also affirmed the continuation of inspection tours by its monitoring teams, and the taking of necessary corrective actions against all detected violations.
