"CITC" Conducts Inspection Tours of Telecom Markets in Riyadh

The Communications and Information Technology Commission, in coordination with relevant entities, conducted inspection tours of telecom service outlets in a number of districts in the city of Riyadh, to detect and address violations of the Telecommunications Act in the markets.

During these tours, the inspection teams found a number of violations, including the sale of unidentified SIM cards, and the sale and activation of SIM cards by unauthorized persons. The teams also seized a number of violating SIM cards, and worked to draft violation reports to refer the violations to the committee responsible for reviewing violations of the Telecommunications Act.

These tours come as part of the efforts made by the Communications and Information Technology Commission to protect users from violating practices, and to work on providing high-quality telecom services in accordance with the Commission's regulations and decisions.
