"CITC" Celebrates Its Partners in the Success of Its Operational Plan for the 1440H Hajj Season

The "Communications and Information Technology Commission" held, yesterday Wednesday, in Jeddah governorate, an honoring ceremony celebrating its partners in the success of its operational plan for the 1440H Hajj season, from the public and private sectors and the media, under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais.

During the ceremony, His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, delivered a speech in which he expressed his gratitude and pride in the efforts exerted during the 1440H Hajj season, and the impressive and distinguished successes achieved by the operational plan for the telecom and information technology sector, which was commended by the International Telecommunication Union, the result of the combined efforts of all partners, which would not have been achieved without the support and patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trusted Crown Prince, may God protect them both, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, the supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, and under the follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Chairman of the Commission's Board of Directors, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha.

Dr. Al-Ruwais referred to telecom service performance indicators during the Hajj season, where total local and international calls reached (364 million) calls, while data consumption during the entire season exceeded 38.9 thousand terabytes, an increase of 27% compared to the same period last year, adding that the mobile internet download speed in Makkah Al-Mukarramah reached 44 Mbps, an increase in mobile internet speeds of up to 67% compared to last year, and the mobile internet download speed in Madinah Al-Munawwarah reached 48.14 Mbps, an increase in mobile internet speeds of up to 54% compared to last year, as a result of the availability of advanced telecom network infrastructure and increased capacity, in addition to a 140% increase in the total frequency bands allocated for providing telecom services.

At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission honored all the partners in the success of the operational plan from the public and private sectors and the media, extending his thanks and appreciation to all partners for their support and assistance, in addition to his aspiration to enhance this distinguished cooperation and crown this well-executed collaborative work through working in all shared fields in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the leadership in caring for the interests of the nation, the citizen, and the guests of the Most Merciful, and that brings good and benefit to our country, praying to God for success for everyone.
