CITC Begins Implementing Its Plan for the Hajj Season

The Communications and Information Technology Commission has begun implementing its plan for this year's Hajj season, 1434H, which involves following up on and supervising telecom and information technology services in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Holy Sites, Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the land, air, and sea ports of entry, with the aim of ensuring these services are provided with high efficiency and without interruption.

The Commission reviewed companies' latest preparations to ensure the completion of all arrangements and precautions for service continuity and reliability, ensuring the provision of the best telecom services to the guests of the Most Merciful during this year's Hajj season. The Commission also reviewed companies' preparations, represented by the provision of all integrated technical and technological equipment, both fixed and mobile, which ensure the provision of the highest level of service and connection quality, and the exceptional capacity to accommodate everyone present in the Grand Mosque and the Holy Sites among the pilgrims to the Sacred House of God, and to meet the needs of the security and civil sectors and business sector services.

The plan aims to ensure the provision of services by telecom companies at all locations with high reliability and without interruption, keeping pace with continuous developments in the telecom sector, including increasing capacity to accommodate the huge volume of communications traffic generated by millions of pilgrims in a very small area, in addition to developing emergency and service recovery systems, and dealing with the rest of the government and private sectors that provide direct or indirect services to pilgrims to the Sacred House of God.

It is worth noting that the plan is being implemented by a qualified human workforce consisting of (5) field and central teams in each of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Holy Sites, and Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and the control centers of the companies providing the service.
