CITC Announces the Opening of the General Phase for Registering Two-Segment Domain Names

The Saudi Network Information Center at the Communications and Information Technology Commission announces the start of the general phase of registering two-segment domain names under the (sa.) extension designated for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Two-segment domain names refer to domain names consisting of the name segment and the Saudi top-level domain segment (sa) directly, such as the following domain: (www.nic.sa), without the usual sub-extensions (com, net, org...).

The general phase refers to the phase during which registration of two-segment domain names is opened to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis and in accordance with the regulations governing the registration process, noting that applications will be received starting at 10:00 AM on Monday 28 Jumada Al-Ula 1432H corresponding to May 2, 2011, with the application process being entirely electronic through the website of the Saudi Network Information Center (www.nic.sa), through which the registration regulations can also be viewed.
