CITC Announces the Issuance of a Facilities-Based Fixed Telecom Services License to Integrated Telecom Company Limited (ITC)

The Communications and Information Technology Commission today announced the issuance of a facilities-based fixed telecom services license to Integrated Telecom Company Limited (ITC), resulting in the amendment of the data services provider (DSP) license issued to the company on 5/2/1426H corresponding to 15/3/2005 to a facilities-based fixed telecom services license.

His Excellency the Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Al-Ruwais, stated in a press comment today the importance of issuing the facilities-based fixed telecom services license to Integrated Telecom Company Limited (ITC) in enabling the company to provide fixed telecom services across the Kingdom, and its participation in the broadband deployment initiative in the Kingdom, and increasing the deployment of fixed telecom services in fulfillment of the objectives of the National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030

His Excellency the Commission Governor affirmed that this license aims to improve infrastructure, increase broadband deployment, raise the sector's efficiency, and increase competitiveness in providing fixed telecom services (voice and data), and expand the range of options for users, in addition to advancing the telecom and information technology sector.

Dr. Al-Ruwais said that this license is the first since the issuance of the Council of Ministers' resolution amending Articles Four and Five of the Telecommunications Act, which granted the Commission the authority to issue fixed telecom services licenses, noting that the Council of Ministers' resolution supports facilitating and attracting new investments toward providing fixed telecom services to all regions of the Kingdom, improving infrastructure, raising network efficiency, and further developing regulatory and technical tools and frameworks.
