Communications and Information Technology Commission: 18 Dhu al-Hijjah is the Final Deadline for Receiving Public Comments on Cloud Computing Regulation in the Kingdom

The Communications and Information Technology Commission said today that 18 Dhu al-Hijjah 1437H is the final deadline for receiving submissions/comments on the public consultation document regarding the regulation of cloud computing in the Kingdom, inviting concerned parties to submit their views and responses to the questions specified by number in that document. It urged the public on the importance of submitting all their observations and views on the questions in detail, supported by justifications, if any, with the data and information submitted being based on the current situation, or based on relevant international experiences and studies.

The Commission explained that the document can be viewed via the Commission's website at http://www.cst.gov.sa, and all submissions/comments should be sent to the Commission no later than 17/12/1437H, corresponding to 18/9/2016, at 2:00 pm, to one of the following addresses: email

The public consultation request comes out of the Communications and Information Technology Commission's keenness to enhance fair competition, protect the public interest and the interests of users and investors, and provide advanced and adequate communications services at reasonable prices, with the aim of regulating the proposed cloud computing regulation to stimulate investment and localize cloud computing services in the Kingdom, in addition to issuing special guidelines for its use for all segments of users, whether individuals, government, or the private sector.
